Who We Are
Meet the Women's Leadership Council!
The Women's Leadership Council is a diverse network of professional women and leaders who stand up and take action to help strengthen women and families in our community. Members connect and collaborate with powerful, like-minded women and inspire meaningful change.
- Are a global network of 62,000 women philanthropists and volunteers who use their hearts, heads and hands to influence positive change
- Invest time, dollars and passion to improve lives for local women, children and families
- Participate in opportunities for personal, professional and philanthropic growth through meaningful volunteer, professional development and networking events
Beginning in 2015, the Women’s Leadership Council will consciously focus on engaging next generation female leaders in the greater Hartford area. Women investing in the Next Generation (WINGs) will be a prominent theme. We will provide new, targeted programming to help next generation female leaders grow personally, professionally and philanthropically. WINGs will also provide opportunities for our more seasoned career members to mentor this next generation.

In addition to the annual Power of the Purse in June, The WLC provides exciting opportunities year-round to connect with local women including the inaugural Red, White and Chocolate fundraising and networking event in January, various networking events and the WLC Anniversary in October.
The WLC fundraising events raise money for family financial centers that provide financial education workshops, one-on-one coaching, free tax preparation, and opportunities to participate in a matched savings program to save for school uniforms, housing and transportation, or to reduce medical debt.
